Calendar of Upcoming Inn Events
*Friday June
24th, Small Grower Champagne Dinner with Corie Malas. Discover the
distinctive terroir-driven wines of Champagne! Dinner at 7pm, $85.00 per
person.
*Friday Sept 23rd, Nickel & Nickel wine dinner with Tom
Gilhooly, National Sales Manager. The dinner coincides with the release of
2002 vintage. Single vineyard wines at their best. Dinner at 7pm, $75.00
per person.
*Friday October 14th, Silverado wine dinner with
Russell Weis, General Manager. Located in the heart of Napa Valleys Stag’s
Leap District, Silverado Vineyards is known as one of the regions great
estates. Dinner at 7pm, $75.00 per person.
*Weather dependent,
Thursday’s at 3pm, starting June 23rd, we will be having wine and cheese
cruises on Friends Lake. Cost $25.00 per person. Please call to reserve
your space.

Dear
Friends,
We’ve redesigned our newsletter so that we can reach more
people in a more “timely” manner. In the past sending the newsletter to
print and then to get mailed added on several weeks, until it would
finally reach you. So we have decided to welcome technology into Friends
Lake Inn . We hope you enjoy it and we welcome your feedback.
The
winter has come to an end. We had less snow than expected, about 56
inches, which resulted in the ski season beginning late and ending early.
The good news is the skiing we did have was some of the best ever. Our
“old” home; Cape Cod got more snow than they knew what to do with. Friends
Lake froze on December 3rd and the ice went out April 15th. Not a very
long season.
We have been busy with spring cleaning, getting the boats
in the water and the swimming pool set to open. And our big winter project
is almost ready to open. We have been renovating the “Murphy” house for
weekend and weekly rentals, and it is almost complete.
The spring
flowers are in bloom and the snow has melted off the Hudson. Maximus
turned 18 months old this month, and weighs in at 178lbs, he is really
enjoying the “Inn” life. We tell him he is going to work, but he knows
someone is going to rub his belly. A dog’s life is a tough job!
We hope

Massage Package for Two:

includes one night accommodations in a Jacuzzi room, two one hour
massages, a bath basket for two, breakfast in bed, and a romantic
three course candlelight dinner for two. Complimentary room

need to be made 72 hours in advance and are dependent on

Dinner By
Design: Enjoy a relaxing getaway for two and design your own
dinner menu. Package includes two nights in a Jacuzzi room, three
course gourmet dinner for two the first evening, dinner by design
the second evening. Meet with Chef Benedictus Niese on the day of
your arrival to discuss your personally designed dinner menu. Tour
the wine cellar, recipient of Wine Spectator’s Grand Award to chose
wines to compliment your personal menu. Full country breakfast for
two each morning. After a leisurely breakfast, linger near the pond,
enjoy the pool, take a canoe or kayak out onto the lake and then
enjoy a private picnic for two prepared by the Chef. Complimentary

Spring Whitewater Rafting Package:
Enjoy a trip on the mighty Hudson River! One nights lodging

2005 New Years Eve Package:
Enjoy sophisticated cuisine and relaxed romantic surroundings as you
ring in the New Year! Three night package starts at $1355 per couple
and includes a welcome reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres,
dinner for two for three nights. One night a special wine pairing
dinner will be offered with the Innkeepers, John and Trudy, in the
wine cellar. On New Years Eve the evening will begin with a
champagne bar and hor d’oeuvres, followed by a five course dinner,

The Wine Bar at Friends Lake Inn offers
lighter dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Stop in and enjoy an evening
with a glass of wine or beer, great food, and good friends in front
of the new big screen television or play a game of pool in the
billiard room. |
The Wine Cellar
Dining Room is now available for parties of 8 or more at no
additional charge.
Wine tasting every Sunday at 4pm. The cost
is $15.00 per person, and you will receive a gift certificate for
redemption in the wine shop for $15.00 please call to
reserve.
Breakfast is a special occasion at Friends Lake Inn,
a full country buffet, with eggs, pancakes and crepes to order.
Monday– Saturday 8-10:30, and 8-12 on Sunday. Please join us for a
relaxing and filling morning, $14.00 per person.
We have over
32 kilometers of trails that reach out to beautiful Palmer Pond.
Grab a bottle of wine and let us pack a picnic for you. Trails
complimentary for our inn guests $12.00 per person for non-house
guests.

Conference-Meeting Retreat
Getaways
Small business conferences for a day, overnight, or a
week are refreshingly different at Friends Lake Inn. We offer
special midweek and shoulder season conference pricing from $165 per
person, including lodging, dinner, breakfast and meeting room. We
have several different venues to hold meetings. We have traditional
conference style or a more relaxed think tank “put your feet up”
style. A variety of private rooms are available to meet and /or take
your meals in; the sunny spacious “Murphy Room”, the intimate
“Parlor”, “lakeside” with a view of Friends Lake, the “Adirondack
Meeting Room”, very traditional conference style or the private
“Wine Cellar”. We also offer a special “Day Rate” package that
includes the meeting room, lunch and audio/visual equipment for just
$45 per person. When your meetings over, feel free to use our hiking
trails, go for a sauna or a swim in the pool or lake. We would also
be happy to help you plan team building activities in the inn or
more adventurous trails. Our team building professional and/or in
house guides are available upon request. |

We are very proud to tell you about our
two of our special chefs. Both Matt and Scott have been going to
school full time and working full time until this past December.
They both achieved their goals and graduated with their Culinary
Arts Degrees.
In addition to receiving a Parnassus award Matt has
been busy helping to raise his adorable son Wesley, who will turn 10
months in June. Matt has been with Friends Lake Inn since
2001.
Scott has continued to add the creativity and artistic
flair to the dining presentation. Scott has been with Friends Lake
